Rei Ayanami's printed jumpsuit takes a dark blue approach, with red markings across the chest and upper back and small turquoise details at the sides. Curved panel graphics shape the torso without interrupting the long, close outline. The subdued base gives the red accents particular prominence, especially around the shoulders.
A cool blue background would draw out the suit's darker tones in a character portrait, while a small area of red light could echo its markings. That restrained setting suits Rei's reserved presence and makes a useful alternative to a busy convention backdrop when you want the garment's line work to remain clear.
