Lacrimosa from Neverness to Everness is a character that newer fans may not know yet, which makes the costume a fun one to bring to a game convention: people who know her will be thrilled, and people who don't will ask. Her look is easy to describe: a cropped red jacket over a white shirt with a ribbon tie, a black tiered skirt, a choker and belts. Her black-and-white twin tails with a pink streak finish it. The Neverness to Everness Lacrimosa Cosplay Costume With Wig sells the outfit and the wig separately.
Outfit and wig are two separate choices
The two styles are Lacrimosa Outfit and Lacrimosa Wig. The outfit includes the jacket, shirt, skirt, choker, belts and accessories. The wig is just the wig, One Size. Shoes and props are not included, and that means her IV-bag accessory from the character art is something to make or buy separately if you want it.
The wig is the harder piece to replace. Two-tone twin tails with a pink streak are hard to style from a plain wig, so most people should buy both. If you already have a two-tone wig, the outfit alone is enough.
Three garments, three charts
Outfit sizes run from Adult XS to XXXL, and each garment has its own chart in centimeters. Here are the numbers that matter most:
Shirt: XS bust 81–85, waist 66–70; M bust 89–93, waist 74–78; XXXL bust 105–109, waist 90–94. Shirt length goes from 53 to 62.
Skirt: XS waist 58–62 and length 47; M waist 66–70 and length 49; XXXL waist 82–86 and length 53.
Jacket: it's cropped, with lengths from only 40 to 46, but the bust is roomy, from 98–102 at XS to 122–126 at XXXL. It's meant to sit open and loose over the shirt.
Because the jacket is roomy, choose your size from the shirt bust and the skirt waist. If those two point to different sizes, take the larger one, since the skirt waist is the tightest fit in the set. Each chart also lists a height range (XS 146–152 up to XXXL 184–190) to help you check skirt length. Hand measurements can be off by 1 to 3 cm.
Getting the details right
Lacrimosa's belts and choker break up the black and white and make the outfit look like game art. Without them it can look like an ordinary school-style outfit. Put the belts on at home first and mark the holes you need, because adjusting buckles in a convention bathroom is no fun.
Wear the cropped red jacket off the shoulders or open. Zipped and straight, it covers the ribbon tie, and the tie is one of the brightest details on her.
Introducing a new character at events
With newer game characters, a little context helps. A small tomato plush or keychain is a fan joke about how much she loves tomatoes, and it tells other players who you are without any explanation. Polyester pieces and a One Size wig make this a light set for game conventions, Halloween and photo shoots.
Use the shirt and skirt charts to choose your size, buy the wig unless you already have a good two-tone one, and bring the belts. That's Lacrimosa done properly.
