Identity V Emma Woods Witch Cosplay: A Thirteen-Piece Unpacking Checklist

Identity V Emma Woods witch cosplay

Emma Woods is known in Identity V as the Gardener, but her witch costume barely resembles the overalls-and-toolbox look players know. This version is black and purple, with a lattice-chain skirt, a white bolero, a pointed hat and a rose choker. The Identity V Gardener Emma Woods Witch Cosplay Costume With Wig includes an unusually long list of small parts, so this guide doubles as an unpacking checklist.

Count the pieces when the box arrives

The Emma Woods Witch Outfit includes the dress, waistcoat, corset, back bow, witch hat, rose choker, glasses, pendant, gloves, cuffs, shoulder straps, a bandage, and thigh-high stockings. That's thirteen items. Lay them all out the day the parcel arrives and check them against this list. It is far easier to sort out a missing cuff or pendant two weeks early than the night before an event.

The bandage and glasses are easy to overlook, but they are what make her recognizably Emma. Without them she can pass for a generic gothic witch.

The three style options

  • Emma Woods Witch Outfit: everything listed above, in Adult XS–XXXL.
  • Emma Woods Wig: her brown wig, One Size.
  • Petticoat Pannier: a One Size petticoat, 35 cm long, that adds volume under the skirt.

The pannier is the option people skip and later regret. In the game art, Emma's skirt flares out. Without a petticoat, polyester layers fall flat, especially in photos taken from the side. At 35 cm long, the pannier sits under the dress without peeking out below the hem.

Dress chart and waistcoat chart

There are two charts, both in centimeters.

Dress: XS bust 80–84, waist 62–66, length 73.5; M bust 88–92, waist 70–74, length 76.5; XXXL bust 104–108, waist 86–90, length 82.5. Shoulder widths are narrow, from 33 to 39.

Waistcoat (the short bolero): XS bust 80–84, back length 25; M bust 88–92, back length 26; XXXL bust 104–108, back length 28. The sleeves are short, from 27.5 to 30.5.

Both charts use the same bust ranges, so choose your size by bust and then check the dress waist. You'll also wear a corset over the dress, so leave a little room at the waist. If you're between sizes, take the larger one. Each size lists a height range too, from 146–152 for XS up to 184–190 for XXXL. Hand measurements can be off by 1 to 3 cm.

Getting dressed in the right order

  1. Thigh-high stockings and the pannier first.
  2. Dress, then the corset, laced moderately tight. Don't tighten it hard on day one.
  3. Bolero, shoulder straps, back bow.
  4. Gloves, cuffs, bandage.
  5. Choker, pendant, glasses, then the wig and hat last.

A friend's help with the back bow saves ten minutes in front of a mirror. Pin the hat to the wig with two pins so it stays on when you turn your head.

Where this witch works

Game conventions, Halloween and Identity V photo shoots are a natural fit. If you're standing next to a Hunter cosplayer, the purple-and-black palette shows up well in dim, moody lighting. Order the outfit plus the pannier, and add the wig unless you already have a soft brown one. Go through the checklist on delivery and again before you leave home.
